Biography

Kinan Sawar founded Sawar Lab in 2022 with a mission to support and mentor medical students at Wayne State University School of Medicine. This initiative has since expanded to include students from four medical schools, providing a broader platform for aspiring clinical researchers to collaborate and gain valuable experience. He is dedicated to addressing key gaps in plastic surgery knowledge and equipping future researchers with the skills needed to drive significant advancements in plastic surgery and its commonly associated specialties (e.g. dermatology, otolaryngology, etc.). His current research interests center on clinical outcomes in breast reconstruction, the improvement of undergraduate medical education curricula, and the evaluation of quality measures in healthcare.
